Prior to starting Canned Web, Akarin Ross
Weatherford was Chief Technology Officer for Indian River
Consulting Group, LLC (IRCG), a premiere consulting firm in
the wholesale distribution industry. Akarin provided technical
implementation expertise on various in-house, IRCG technology
initiatives including a ground-up software development of
a Professional Services ERP system built on Exchange 2000.
Akarin also consulted with wholesale distribution executives
on IT related issues ranging from “Building IT Departments”
to “Software Package Selection Education”.
Akarin has been published in numerous industry
trade magazines and is considered and Expert in technology
implementation for the wholesale distribution industry. Akarin
also assisted with the architecture of an IRCG spin-off business
based on Live and On-Demand Streaming Media Presentations.
During the creation and execution of this venture, Akarin
became an expert in Streaming Media technologies, non-linear
video editing systems, digital audio capture, and online collaboration
platforms like Exchange 2000 and 2003.
Before IRCG, Akarin worked for a major defense
contractor where his most notable, unclassified project was
the design, development, and production of a communication
system that allows telephone, email, and Internet access for
shipboard U.S. sailors around the world over commercial satellite
links.
Akarin graduated from the Florida Institute
of Technology with a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering
and pursued continuing education in software engineering,
system engineering, and project engineering and management.
